Inspired by a pantheon of greats throughout the centuries all the way from Beethoven to Ben Folds, Dom J Crosato is a multi-hyphenate songwriter and composer. A candidate of the [Queensland Conservatorium](https://www.griffith.edu.au/arts-education-law/queensland-conservatorium)'s Bachelor of Music, he speaks a musical language that spans across genres like folk, punk-rock, orchestral and electronic. From his time as one half of the punk-rock duo [Little Eastwood](https://littleeastwood.bandcamp.com/) to summoning traditional folk tunes on his banjo, his journey through the arts has taken more twists and turns than the small-town back roads that he grew up in.
As a devoted believer in the power of storytelling, Dom's artistic projects often combine the melancholic with the whimsical. When wearing his songwriter's hat, his lyrics walk the line between daydreaming fantasy and cold, bitter reality. With a focus not on mastering one craft but instead collecting them like a magpie would trinkets, his music is an exploration of combining strange and beautiful things - a testament to allowing ourselves to embrace the unexpected with a sharp mind and an open heart.
Never content with sitting still, he lives with four cats and one human.
### <span class="heading "> > Private piano tutoring</span>
I conduct private piano lessons for students of all ages and levels. You will find that I am an approachable and enthusiastic piano teacher who can help you master the instrument regardless of whether you are preparing for AMEB exams or simply playing for leisure.
I started playing the piano at eight and throughout my life I have explored a variety of different genres and styles including from the classical and romantic era, jazz, film scores, contemporary pop and even electronic music synthesis.
My core passion is the study of music composition. At the start of 2024, I was accepted into the composition program at the Queensland Conservatorium, which has greatly deepened my grasp on the musical language and provided me the opportunity to compose for a diverse range of ensembles and music styles. Due to my field of study, I am capable of offering music theory education in a way that is accessible, fun and approachable. I can also compose short etudes for my students, developing their skills in a more personal way.
